He has a lot of experience in different sectors such as the banking sector, construction, real estate and investment among others and has been a global industrialist and non-business strategist. He has become one very experienced and skilled individual and someone to look up to from the experience gathered in the various sectors in business. He has been an inspiration to many and there are many important lessons that people have drawn from him.
For any leader, vision is very important for example a CEO. You must be able to have full knowledge of the business from the inside out when you’re a leader. You should know exactly where the company is headed and where they ought to be. It is until then that they’ll be able to guide employees and those under them on how things should be handled. The cause of action to be taken and decisions to be made is dictated by the vision. Through this the company and everyone in them gets a sense of direction.
In the company or business, one important quality is that one must be accessible and approachable by everyone. The open-door system is the approach that has taken over. This simply means that anyone can be able to approach leadership without any hindrances and share their hearts and mind concerning certain things that could be troubling them.
Another great quality is respect. When you respect someone they also respect you in return and therefore respect is one thing that is two-way. Even though your employees are under you and under your command, it is what is good to respect them. This is very important because instead of commanding respect you and your respect and peaceful coexistence is fostered between you and your employees. As they are relating among themselves you will be a good example to them that they will emulate.
Even as you scale up the ladder, one thing that has also been pointed out is learning from people. Even from people who were below as for instance employees, we always learn from those people around us. It is important that you continue learning from people and not to despise anyone even as you scale up the career ladder. Make sure that you apply and put into practice whatever you learn so that it may transform you and seems to be knowledge.
The last important thing is even to yourself and others, you must be true and honest. People will do the same to you as you do to them.
